From Access to Trust: Reimagining Identity for Tomorrow

How Digital Innovation Elevates Identity as a Driver of Secure Business and Customer Confidence?

IAM Experts, in partnership with Ping Identity, is pleased to announce the next edition of the Identity Forum, an exclusive event designed to unpack the ever-evolving role of Identity shifting from a traditional Access Control function to a core element of Digital Trust.

On 09 September 2025 at Hotel Sky Sandton in Johannesburg, this event will facilitate a high-value dialogue between organisations showing interest in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and experts of the domainby addressing real-world challenges, sharing best practices, and exploring tailored approaches to building customer trust.

Modern IAM: From Perimeter Control to Trust-Centred System

As digital ecosystems become increasingly complex, traditional IAM frameworks are reaching their limits. The rise of cloud computing, hybrid environments, zero-trust architectures, and decentralised identity models calls for a fundamental rethink of how identity is defined, managed, and secured. This session explores the transition to modern IAM: trust-based, adaptive systems using continuous authentication and behavioural analytics. By integrating identity orchestration and privacy-preserving technologies, organisations can create secure, user-centric and scalable systems.

Key discussion points will include:

  • Transforming Identity: Secure, Adaptive, and User Centric
  • Reducing Fraud Through Identity Security

The keynotes speakers for the session will be Rob Otto, EMEA CTO at Ping Identity, and Richard Craig, General Manager at IAM Experts South Africa.

With nearly two decades of experience across the UK, USA, Europe, and South Africa, Rob Otto will bring a global perspective to local identity challenges. His work focuses on applying industry standards such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect to build secure, interoperable systems that support business agility and customer confidence.

“It’s no longer just about access — it’s about trust,” says Rob Otto. “Identity today must serve as a dynamic enabler of business continuity, fraud prevention, and long-term customer engagement.”

Richard Craig will also contribute to the session by exploring how trusted identity platforms can enhance customer experience and reduce risk.

“Identity is a cornerstone of customer trust. It helps organisations detect and prevent fraud. A modern identity platform reduces friction for trusted users while introducing necessary barriers for bad actors,” considers Richard Craig.

Richard Craig brings over 20 years of expertise in the Identity and Access Management space and has played a key role in delivering large-scale IAM projects across South Africa. He joined IAM Experts in May 2024, leading our expansion into the South African market with the opening of our Cape Town office. Since then, Richard has been instrumental in building strong relationships with local clients and partners, while establishing and mentoring a growing regional team.

Strategic Dialogue Meets Expertise and Market Insight

This Johannesburg edition continues the Identity Forum legacy: a series of high-level business roundtables launched by IAM Experts nearly five years ago. Prioritising quality over quantity, the Forums foster meaningful peer-to-peer engagement, enabling stakeholders to share insights, debate emerging trends, and develop actionable strategies for their identity challenges.

With Ping Identity and IAM Experts combining deep technical expertise and local market understanding, this event promises to be an insightful and collaborative experience for all our guests.
